Ethical Oversight
The International Journal of Applied Research in Management, Economics and Accounting (IJMEA) is committed to maintaining high ethical standards in the conduct, evaluation, and publication of scholarly research.
The journal expects authors, reviewers, editors, and other contributors to comply with applicable ethical principles, institutional requirements, and relevant standards of responsible research and publication.
1. Ethical Conduct of Research
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their research has been conducted ethically and in accordance with applicable institutional, national, and international requirements.
Research involving human participants, personal data, confidential information, or other ethically sensitive materials must comply with the relevant ethical and legal requirements applicable to the study.
Where ethical approval is required, authors should obtain approval from an appropriate institutional or independent ethics committee before conducting the research.
2. Research Involving Human Participants
For research involving human participants, authors should provide sufficient information regarding ethical approval and, where applicable, the name of the approving institution or ethics committee and the approval or reference number.
Where appropriate, authors must obtain informed consent from participants before their involvement in the research.
Authors should ensure that participation is voluntary and that participants are adequately informed about the purpose, procedures, potential risks, benefits, confidentiality, and use of their data.
3. Informed Consent
Where informed consent is required, authors are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from participants.
Consent should cover participation in the research and, where applicable, the collection, processing, storage, and publication of relevant information.
If identifying information, images, quotations, or other potentially identifiable material is included in a manuscript, appropriate consent should be obtained where required.
4. Privacy and Confidentiality
Authors must protect the privacy and confidentiality of research participants.
Personal information should not be disclosed unless there is an appropriate legal or ethical basis for doing so.
Manuscripts should be prepared in a manner that minimizes the risk of identifying individual participants unless identification is necessary, justified, and appropriately consented to.
5. Data and Research Integrity
Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data presented in their manuscripts.
Data fabrication, falsification, manipulation, inappropriate data processing, and deliberate misrepresentation of research findings are unacceptable.
Where appropriate and legally permissible, authors should retain sufficient research records and supporting data to allow the integrity of the reported research to be assessed.
6. Ethical Approval and Documentation
The Editorial Office may request evidence of ethical approval, informed consent, research protocols, or other relevant documentation when necessary to evaluate the ethical compliance of a manuscript.
Failure to provide appropriate documentation may result in further editorial review, rejection, or other action where ethical requirements have not been adequately addressed.
7. Research Without Formal Ethical Approval
Not all research requires formal ethics committee approval. For studies that do not involve human participants or other activities requiring formal ethical review, authors should provide an appropriate statement where relevant.
The absence of formal ethical approval does not exempt authors from complying with applicable ethical, legal, privacy, and research-integrity requirements.
8. Editorial and Peer-Review Oversight
Editors and reviewers are expected to identify and appropriately address potential ethical concerns that arise during the editorial and peer-review process.
Where a significant ethical concern is identified, the journal may request clarification or documentation from the authors and may consult appropriate experts or institutions when necessary.
Editorial decisions concerning ethical matters are made independently of commercial considerations.
9. Allegations of Ethical Misconduct
Concerns regarding research ethics, participant protection, informed consent, data integrity, plagiarism, conflicts of interest, or other forms of research or publication misconduct may be reported to the Editorial Office through the journal's official email address.
IJMEA will assess such concerns in accordance with its relevant publication ethics and misconduct policies.
Depending on the nature of the concern, the journal may request additional information, contact the authors' institution, seek independent expert advice, issue a correction, publish an editorial notice, or take other appropriate action.
10. Post-Publication Ethical Concerns
Ethical concerns may be investigated even after an article has been published.
If an ethical issue is confirmed after publication, IJMEA may issue a correction, clarification, expression of concern, retraction, or other appropriate editorial action depending on the seriousness and nature of the issue.
The journal's objective is to protect the integrity of the scholarly record and ensure that published research meets appropriate ethical standards.
11. Editorial Independence
Ethical oversight and editorial decisions are independent of the payment of Article Processing Charges or other commercial considerations.
Payment of the APC does not guarantee acceptance or publication of a manuscript and does not influence editorial or ethical decisions.
The Article Processing Charge (APC) of €170 is payable only after final acceptance and for publication. Authors will be officially notified of the publication fee and payment instructions through the journal's official email address.
Following confirmation of payment, the accepted article will be published within 10 days. A Publication Certificate will also be issued and sent to the author after publication.
12. Responsibility of Authors
Authors remain primarily responsible for ensuring that their research complies with applicable ethical standards and institutional requirements.
Submission of a manuscript to IJMEA constitutes an affirmation that the authors have followed the ethical requirements applicable to their research and have provided accurate information regarding ethical approval, informed consent, participant protection, and other relevant ethical matters.
IJMEA reserves the right to request clarification or supporting documentation whenever necessary to protect research integrity and the scholarly record.
