Post-publication discussions and corrections

Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections

The International Journal of Applied Research in Management, Economics and Accounting (IJMEA) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record after publication.

1. Post-Publication Discussions

IJMEA welcomes constructive scholarly discussion concerning published articles. Readers, researchers, authors, and other interested parties may contact the Editorial Office if they identify a substantive issue, concern, clarification, or scholarly disagreement related to a published article.

Post-publication comments or concerns should be based on relevant academic evidence and presented in a professional and respectful manner.

The Editorial Office will assess the nature and significance of the concern and, where appropriate, may consult the Editor-in-Chief, members of the Editorial Board, reviewers, or independent subject experts.

2. Corrections

When an error is identified in a published article, IJMEA will assess whether the issue affects the accuracy, interpretation, or integrity of the published record.

Minor errors that do not materially affect the article's findings, interpretation, or bibliographic information may be corrected without issuing a formal correction notice where appropriate.

Substantive errors that affect the accuracy or understanding of the published article may result in the publication of a formal Correction Notice.

A correction notice will clearly identify the affected article and describe the nature of the correction. Where appropriate, the online version of the article will also be updated, while maintaining a transparent record of the change.

3. Author Responsibilities

Authors are expected to notify the Editorial Office promptly if they discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work.

Requests for corrections should include:

  • The title of the published article

  • The DOI or article identification information

  • A clear description of the error

  • The proposed correction

  • Supporting information or evidence, where applicable

Authors should not attempt to alter or replace a published article independently.

4. Editorial Assessment

All post-publication concerns and correction requests will be evaluated by the Editorial Office.

Depending on the nature of the issue, IJMEA may:

  • Request clarification or supporting documentation from the authors

  • Consult members of the Editorial Board

  • Seek independent expert assessment

  • Request additional information or data

  • Publish a correction, clarification, or other editorial notice

  • Initiate an investigation under the journal's Publication Ethics and Misconduct policies

Editorial decisions will be based on the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record and will not be influenced by commercial considerations.

5. Retractions and Other Editorial Actions

If a published article is subsequently found to contain serious errors, unreliable findings, significant ethical concerns, plagiarism, fraudulent data, or other issues that substantially undermine the integrity of the article, IJMEA may consider retraction or another appropriate editorial action in accordance with its publication ethics policies.

A retraction is considered separately from a routine correction and is used when the reliability or integrity of the published work is substantially compromised.

6. Transparency of the Scholarly Record

IJMEA aims to maintain a clear and transparent scholarly record. When a formal correction or other post-publication notice is issued, the notice will be linked to the affected article where technically possible.

The original publication record will not be removed solely because a correction has been issued. Where changes are necessary, IJMEA will provide appropriate editorial documentation to preserve transparency.

7. Confidentiality

Post-publication investigations and communications will be handled with appropriate confidentiality. Information will only be shared with individuals who need it for the purpose of evaluating and resolving the matter, subject to applicable ethical and legal requirements.

8. How to Submit a Concern

Post-publication concerns, correction requests, or requests for clarification should be submitted through the journal's official email address.

All submissions should clearly identify the article concerned and provide sufficient information and evidence to allow the Editorial Office to assess the matter.

There is no fee for submitting a post-publication concern or correction request.

IJMEA is committed to addressing legitimate concerns fairly, objectively, and transparently while protecting the integrity of the published scholarly record.
